The Builders Exchange of Iron Mountain/Kingsford (BX) has been the major clearing-house for commercial and industrial construction projects out for bid in the area since 1960. Working in conjunction with the Dickinson Area Partnership the BX functions as a professional network for more than 143 companies involved in the construction, landscaping and decorating industries and many more occupations in the area.
The purpose of the organization is to encourage the economic growth of our community. The BX offers its members an opportunity to network with other members in order to increase business contacts. Members are encouraged to use other members of the Exchange in all stages of construction as well as other areas of general business.
A job listing (newsletter) of projects out for bid in Michigan and Wisconsin is updated weekly. This newsletter contains complete description of each project in the exchange plan room. Also included is up to the minute addendums on every plan. All projects are listed in due date order with the architect or construction manager's phone and fax number.
An Annual Iron Mountain Kingsford Directory containing all members by classification with the name of the business, contact, address, phone and fax numbers. It is a valueable marketing tool for all members of the exchange and interested builders.
The on-line plan room allows our members to view what plans are available at the BX. Any printing of plans needs to to be done at the office. Fee for the online planroom is $25 per year for members. Viewing only is allowed with planroom.
The Blueprint Copier is a wide format printer/scanner that can *reduce and enlarge drawings *download prints from the internet *print drawings from software programs *scan drawings to a CD or email *print collated sets. Copies can be made Mon.-Fri. between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The copier can copy any kind of paper or cardboard in addition to several feet long.
